GENERAL INFORMATION

Classes follow the Plano Independent School District schedule.  If school is canceled, ICO cancels classes as well.  Fall classes start around Labor Day and recess beginning the first week of December.  Spring classes resume the last week of January and end during the first week of May.  An awards ceremony is held at the end of the Spring semester to recognize students for their accomplishments. Nursery and child care is available for students’ children only.  The schedule is subject to change.

CLASSES OFFERED

English classes are offered every semester at ICO.  Additional courses are offered based on availability of qualified and certified instructors.  These additional courses include topics such as computers, sewing, cooking, professional cake decorating, pottery, oil painting, upholstery, stained glass, and arts & crafts.

All classes are taught by professionals including retired school teachers, educators, and certified professionals.  If you are a retired school teacher or professional and would like to be a part of Isabel's Community Outreach, please contact us.  Or, if you have expert skills in a particular life skill that you would like to share, please contact us.

MORE THAN A CLASSROOM
Building Inner Beauty Pageant

In 2009, ICO founded Building Inner Beauty.  BIB is a program designed to build self-esteem and self-confidence in girls and women. We provide tools and skills to empower females to be successful in school, work, home and the community through a beauty pageant setting. BIB produces the Miss Inner Beauty pageant where women and children experience a life-changing program promoting unity, beauty from within, and self-awareness. BIB is a program for all ages, and is offered free of charge; as are all ICO programs.

"BIB is a good place for everyone.  You don't just participate for a crown, that's the less important thing.  The most important thing is that you get to meet new people, and learn something new from each of your team mates.   You also get to show your skills like dancing and other things. You are already a princess.  You don't need a crown to be beautiful, because you are beautiful already from the inside and out by just being yourself.  Don't ever give up on what you have, because there are always people there who want to help you.  At BIB there are people who love you and will help you."

Family Days

"ICO is about the future of the children, and we do whatever it takes for the children to have a better life.  That may be family, education, health, security, a better job, home, clothing, food and future plans.  We do what we can to bring out the best in them.  At ICO we instill a message of hope."

~Isabel Garcia, ICO Founder and President

ICO produces a variety of events based on resources and volunteer availability.  Some of the events that we have made available to families and children of ICO include a carnival, back to school, water games, and music day.  ICO is so much more than a classroom.  ICO opens up the minds of so many individuals, young and mature to allow them to see the possibilities.

Summer Activities

These family style day camp activities allow children to learn new things while interacting with their mothers.  These programs involve mothers with their children and encourages a family working together as a cohesive unit.
