"Mom, I want to do this again"

After I competed in the Mrs. Texas/America Pageant, my daughter had her first glimpse into the world of pageantry. She developed such an interest that I started doing some research on my own.  I came across "Building Inner Beauty" Pageant!  I came across Crissy Broeske's name and she seemed to be very involved with the pageant so I sent her a message. She responded quickly and we set up a time to meet. Over the next several months, Crissy held workshops for all the contestants and offered very valuable information to all, making everyone feel excited and welcomed. The day of the pageant, Crissy was graceful, as was all the volunteers and the judges.  Everyone earnestly making ever effort to keep nerves calm, share messages of our inner beauty and the importance thereof. The Pageant was such a wonderful event that even though my daughter did not receive a crown, she knew she was a princess inside because of what had been shared with her by all the volunteers and Crissy. Still standing on stage, after the other girl was crowned, my daughter looked at me, with a smile on her face, while I standing behind the curtain off stage, and said, "Mommy, I want to do this again!" I think THAT moment, made me realize the true impact that BIB had on both our lives. I am a fan forever of Crissy and Building Inner Beauty! Tammy DisekerMrs. Collin County 2013.  read more

"Just enter and feel the love"

When I was asked by Sylvia to enter in the BIB pageant I knew this was not for me “A pageant”, really I was going to quit after the first meeting but I’m glad I didn’t quit. It was an experience I will not ever forget. This is not a pageant like any other one this one is special. Yes they give out crowns, you are a queen but everyone walks out a winner. BIB shows you where true beauty lies and it’s in your heart. It builds confidence, self-esteem and shows you where beauty lies within. I always tried to make people have a smile make them feel good about themselves encourage them and just be there for them, and all along I was hurting inside. I had no confidence in myself and surely didn’t think I had accomplished much in my life for myself other than my family. But when asked what accomplishments I had done for me I could not answer that question. I know now that beauty is in your heart and BIB, Mrs. Crissy and all the ladies and coaches showed me that. Many tears shed during the interview with other ladies and new friends found. God created me and that I also matter. So I can now say this is accomplishment I have done for myself and I am proud of it and the beauty that I have. I encourage each one of you if you don’t think that you are beautiful, you are in more than one way. Just enter into BIB and feel the love from others.

"You don't need a crown to be beautiful"

BIB is a good place for everyone.  You don't just participate for a crown, that's the less important thing.  The most important thing is that you get to meet new people, and learn something new from each of your team mates.   You also get to show your skills.   If you love to dance and other things. You are already a princess.  You don't need a crown to be beautiful, because you are beautiful already from the inside and out by just being yourself.  Don't ever give up on what you have, because there are always people there who want to help you.  At BIB there are people who love you and will help you.

"Where true beauty lies"

Participation in BIB was one of the most positive experiences of my life.  This is not just your average beauty pageant.  It is so much more... so much more in fact that I am unsure that I even have the words to describe my experience.  This pageant is about showing women and girls where their TRUE beauty lies.  It is not about a dress size, a particular hair style or the latest make up craze.  This pageant is about the heart.  It is about building inner strength, confidence and esteem.  No one walks away without having been touched.  Yes, crowns are given out but the winners of the crowns are not the only winners.  Every woman, every girl will walk away with a sense of self that is worth so much more than a crown and a sash.  And that is what it is really about a realistic sense of self that is true, pure and completely realistic.  For me this pageant was a crucial step in moving towards the fulfillment of God’s plan in my life.  I had to shed my inhibitions, move outside of my self-imposed box and begin to see myself as God sees me. This was the first step in me being able to see myself the way God sees me.

"I'm a new and better person"

My name is Sarah Seifert and I am just one of the many women who have been majorly transformed through the BIB program and Crissy's gift of love and passion for others. When I was in junior high school, I went through a horrible bout of depression. I lost many of my friends because I quit cheerleading and I wouldn't follow what was "cool" to do at that time, such as smoking or doing drugs. I was told by many adults that I was strong for saying no, yet I felt like I was so weak and brittle on the inside. This feeling lasted from 8th grade until 12th grade. You may ask what changed, and I really only have one major answer to this: The Miss Inner Beauty Pageant on October of 2009.  I can happily say now that I am a new and better person because of this pageant system. It isn't just about winning a crown and title and going home. It is about learning to love, to give joy, to help others, and to be yourself and be confident about it! I will stick with this system because of the dramatic personal effect it has had on my life. I know that I am not and will not be the only one that will be changed, and I want to help as many girls, women, boys, and men I can with this family. It's not a competition, it's a life changing event.

"I felt completely different"

I have been involved with Building Inner Beauty for three years when my daughter signed up as a contestant.   Prior to her BIB involvement, she was judged harshly by her peers in high school, which left her feeling insecure about her abilities.  Now she is a confident woman in college and has many successes behind and in front of her.  And she is still involved with BIB!  Because of the growth I saw in my daughter and others involved in BIB, I decided to go beyond volunteering and become a contestant.  At first, I wondered how I was going to get through the process without passing out from fear!  When I practiced the judge’s sample questions, I had a very difficult time because I was not able to focus the questions on myself.  But after a BIB coach worked with me, I understood that I needed to recognize my abilities just as my daughter had.  On the day of the pageant, I felt completely different.  My time with BIB taught me that every girl and woman deserves to feel self-assured.  And on pageant day, I realized I needed to let that sentiment apply to me.  I do have something to offer girls and women my age.  So I am looking forward to this year in which I have a platform to impact others and bring that same realization to them.
